The new Zigbee 3.0 standard replaces the old ZigBee ZLL standard. ZigBee 3.0 is now more compatible with several "bridges" from different manufacturers. Devices with this technology also communicate in a mesh network. Mesh means that the transmitted control signals are not only received by the dimmers or controllers, but are also transmitted to all other, identical devices in the vicinity and transmission range. This increases the transmission distance enormously and helps to avoid radio gaps.
